Mezőzombor, Hotel 2013

MEZŐZOMBOR, HOTEL 2013
Mezőzombor lies in the mid-part of county Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén; the region is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site (since 2002) Tokaj-Hegyalja.
Because of the tranquil, scenic environment, the health resort can be a popular destination for wine lovers to relax, unwind, and recharge. The neglected buildings of the farm Bekényi currently still standing on the site will be demolished before starting the construction.
The block of the main building is an introverted manor house; the plain, vaulted openings of the façades ensure the consistent appearance of the building complex. Architecturally and functionally, the observation tower - also incorporating a cozy dining place - settled in the southwestern corner of the plot is linked organically to the main building, but its distinctive silhouette separates it from the main bulk of the resort.
An essential element of the concept is the renewal of the hotel's closer and wider environment to offer shorter and longer walks - to the bower, kitchen garden, orchards, meadows, pastures – to explore the peace and beauty of the surrounding landscape.
